The law school of CUFE (formerly the Faculty of Law of CUFE) was founded in 1995. Our law education relies on the advantages of disciplines with economics, management. We seek to the combination of management, economics education and law education. We emphasize on training the high-level, complex and practical students who know law and economic, understand management and can use foreign languages fluently.
Economiclaw Program
As a Graduate Program of CUFE Law School, the economic law program includes basic and advanced courses. In the first year, the students are provided with banking law, insurance law, and competition law and etc. Classes in the following year are built on this foundation by giving a greater depth of specific topics, and the third year is for internship and dissertation.
Economic law course is to explain the legal framework of economic institutions in China, to analyze how state intervention in developing market economy is justified, and to understand how economic analysis could be used in market regulation. This program is aimed to develops students’ knowledge of the Consumer Protection Law, the Anti-Unfair Competition Law and Anti-monopoly Law in China and helps students to gain the ability to solve complex economic law cases. This course trains students to practice the interdisciplinary method, in particular economic analysis of law that will be commonly applied in other advanced courses. Beside, This course also aims at training students to gain writing skills, learning skills and communication skills.
Civil and Commercial Law Program
CUFE civil and commercial law program in one of leading program across China, which contains courses of contract law, property law, tort law, company law, employment law, and etc. The program enjoys a high reputation in leading graduate programs across China for its well-known professors and their legal works and influential publications. Students of this program are expected to master basic theory as well as practical experience. The program also pays attention to Chinese judicial practice and it aims to cultivate graduates with high theoretical level and practical skills to deal with civil and commercial matters.
Intellectual Property Law Program
Intellectual property law program provides both master’s and doctoral degree. The program covers Trademark Law, Copyright Law, Patent Law and, Intellectual Property Clinic Law, and it has four full-time faculty members and several visiting scholars around the world, all of whom enjoy a high reputation in the Intellectual property law circles.
Taking advantage of its connection with Peking high tech hub, the program has set up an Intellectual Property Research Center in March 2017. This center devotes to provide advice to government, serve the community, promote the comprehensive development of teaching, research and practice, and also to be an intellectual property research platform for students.
Financial Service Law Program
The program equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to handle the regulatory, transactional and compliance needs of financial services clients in today’s global economy. It aims to cultivate international & versatile human resources that satisfy the needs of the development of the market economy of China, thus providing a special focus on financial transactions, financial services, financial markets and financial regulatory issues.
The program introduces basic theories, conceptions of financial instruments, current financial regulatory regime and its developments of China, and analyzes specific rules and legal institutions regarding financial services. Main courses of the program covers: Chinese civil &
commercial law, Business trust law, Corporate law and corporate finance, Corporate insolvency law, Financial instruments and securities law, Banking law, Insurance law, Competition Law and Economics and etc. Students will be taught by a team of academics with practical experience of transactions and regulatory issues. This specialization enables students to acquire both a theoretical base and a practical expertise in the subjects involved.
International Law Program
International Law Programis one of most internationalized programs in CUFE, and ithas developed a system of curriculum with their own unique traits.The Program offers nearly upper-level courses on a series of topics ranging fromInternational Public Law,International Business Law, International Private Law, International Economic Law, International Investment Law, International Business Commercial Arbitration, WTO Law, Human Rights Lawto InternationalCivilJudicial CooperationLaw.Theprogramaims to keep pace with rapid progress-both local and global-in law, economy and technology, and focus on hot issues of “One Belt One Road Initiative”.
